Auburn East High Class of 1964 News

New Information and News from Our Classmates

From Jack and Sue Wickham:

We've moved:

6216 Kenlaren Circle
North Syracuse, NY 13212

From Jim Michaels

On the good news side, we’re now up to 5 grandchildren, with another on the way in June. My work is going
extremely well. I earned my Doctorate in 2006, and was certified a CPE supervisor (which means I can train
chaplains) in June, 2007.

Sadly, I also should report the death of my brother Bill, at the end of July. Some of our classmates knew him
because he always hung out with me and David Riggs. David flew out to the funeral in Denver. Bill was well
known in Auburn; unlike me, he returned a lot.

IS TIME REALLY MARCHING ON SO FAST THAT WE ARE APPROACHING ANOTHER REUNION--

From Dave and Ann Padlick

the only thing that's changed in our lives is our ages!

From Carol (Karpinski) Groeschel

You're right about the time flying thing. Where did 2007 go??? I guess that's old age speaking.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to going to this one--

From Aileen Hall

I'm looking forward to the 45th reunion and glad you are planning it because I
apparently missed th 40th due to my "missing person" status.

News: I'm a widow, no kids, on the brink of retirement, love outdoors stuff--
live at the edge of the Wayne National Forest where I hike with my dog and
paddle my kayak, and wonder, if I'm six decades old, why am I not smarter?

From Chet Bunnell

As of March 2007, I had to retire due to MS from Saint
Louis University, where I was a Reference Librarian for 21
years. My wife, Eunice, of 16 passed away in November, 2006.

From Ann Iaia Payne

I retired in June, '06 from teaching. I came out of retirement for an interim position
with BOCES doing teacher training from 1/07 until 6/07. I'm now looking for part time work
because my family found out I was retired!

From John Ramsey 12/3/07

My mother, Mildred, died this past June in the good age of 98. For the current
academic year (2007-08) I am on leave from the University of Illinois at Chicago
thanks to a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities. My wife
Sarah and I shall be spending January to April 2008 in Oxford, England, where I
shall be a visiting fellow at my old college Balliol. We plan to be back in Chicago
in time to see our son David receive his PhD and MD in early May.

From Bill Dewitt 12/3/07

I am now Associate Dean for Maine Maritime Academy and head of the Loeb-Sullivan
School of International Business and Logistics in Castine, ME… Marcia and I are
living on the Bagaduce River near Blue Hill, ME… We would love to see anyone who
gets up this way…
