We live in a little town called Madeira Park, located on Pender Harbor
in British Columbia.
I got married for the fourth time in 11 years
to a gal named Sharron, with 2 "r's". She has 4 daughters, all
of them are gone now. We have 6 grandchildren, love all of them.
We have lived in Pender Harbor for 6 years.
When we moved here, we had three boats, but that was too much . . . we
are now down to one, a 26' Chris Craft with twin 302 Ford engines for
power. The fishing season is from May until September. The limit is four
silver and two king salmon per day. We fish in the Straits of Georgia,
all inside water, if we get a 4-foot sea, we stay home. We use live bait
with #10 hooks.
I am in the volunteer fire department, this is
my last year.
Life has been good to me, although I have had a
little heart trouble.
Come up and see us . . . Bernie Johnson.

At I time when I should be riding off quietly into the sunset of
retirement I decided to help the startup (perhaps the shutdown as well)
of a new Internet company in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. If nothing comes of
it I am experiencing the best summer of trout fishing in my life and
that is saying a whole lot. I am planning to get married again in
October to a nice lady from Seattle, Carol Ferrera. Carol is a great fly
fisher and fly tier. In her day job she works as a clinical analyist for
a biotech company in Redmond, Washington. After we are married we may
live either in Jackson Hole, or Seattle, or not work at all, whatever
the case may be.
My children are now 41, 39, 37 and 35
respectively. My granddaughter and grandson are 17 and 14. Carol has two
sons ages 30 and 27.
I am still writing magazine articles whenever
I'm not tied to an editor's desk. My books continue to sell enough to
keep the wolf from the door and I have two more in works. I'm glad that
I migrated into writing. I love the work and really don't know what else
I would have done. I enjoyed the luncheon on June 8th and look forward
to our 50th reunion.
