The year 2001 is rapidly drawing to a close, and much like Thanksgiving, I have much to be thankful for this holiday season. Unlike last year when we had so much snow, this year we have just a skiff as shown below from our patio door:
We're still in Highland in our snug little apartment, still looking for a new place to live, but obviously not very hard.
On December 18th our daughter delivered our Christmas present, a 6 lb. 6 oz. girl, Madison Piper Collins. Mom, Dad, brother and sister are all doing well. Mawmaw on the other hand is worn out. I spent five days at their house. It felt good to get home and sleep in my own bed. I am way behind what I thought I'd have done, but in the end none of it is as important as what I did for those five days.
Here is Mawmaw on one of the few occasions that I got to hold the baby without having her brother and sister bugging me to hold her as well.
(Paige and Bryce were both in school, HEHEHEHEHE.)
Here she is at less than 24 hours old (and I'm 58 going on 70 at this point):
If you are a member of the class of 1962 and have not heard from Kathie Hamilton Cavanagh or myself, PLEASE contact us so that you can be kept up to date about our upcoming reunion and any activities planned before that. While we miss those that have passed away, we also miss those that we have "temporarily misplaced".
Hugs to all of you.
Happy New Year
