Sharlene Wells Gilbreath, 68

Graveside services for Sharlene Wells Gilbreath, 68, of Brownwood were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Cox Cemetery in McCulloch County with Rev. L.R. Blackstock officiating.  Interment followed under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home of Brownwood.  Mrs. Gilbreath died Thursday, January 20, 2005, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 24, 1936, in Trickham, Texas, the daughter of the late Ollie and Charlie Wells.  She had been a resident of Brown County for a number of years and was formerly of Coleman County.  She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and worked as a foreman at Kohler Company for a number of years.  On February 6, 1953, she was married to Jack Gilbreath in Coleman.  He preceded her in death in 1991.  Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ruth Long; and a grandson, Brian Thomas.

Survivors include two sons, Darrel Gilbreath and wife Deborah of Winchell and Ricky Gilbreath and wife Jodi of Lake Brownwood; two daughters, Vickie Thomas of Lake Brownwood and Kay Gilbreath and fiance Don Noble of Sherman; one brother, Kenneth Wells and wife Patsy of Abilene; one sister, Reta Pauelka and husband Johnny of Abbott; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
