Delorise Jewell, called "Dee Dee," began Coleman High School with the Class of 1965. She dropped out about 1963 or 1964, and married Dwight Hudson in 1967. She went back to school in 1968, and graduated with the CHS Class of 1969.
Dee Dee Hudson, 57 Memorial services for Dee Dee Hudson will be Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p. m. at Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Daniel Stovall, pastor of Concho Baptist Church and Paul Smith, pastor of Community Baptist Church, officiating, under the direction of Walker Funeral Home. Dee Dee passed away Friday, June 11, 2004 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. She was born in Cross Plains, Texas on May 13, 1947 to the late Dexter Jewell and Eula Faye Potter. She married Dwight Hudson on August 19, 1967 in Coleman, Texas. She received a BS Degree at Howard Payne University. Dee Dee taught school at Santa Anna, Mozelle and Coleman for 30 years. It is said she was the finest Special Education teacher who has ever passed through the doors of the Elementary School in Santa Anna. She is survived by her husband, Dwight Hudson of Coleman; two daughters, Kathy Cole of Benbrook and Jefflyn Miller of Coleman; two sisters, Janice Wells of Santa Anna and Diane Brooks of Tuscola; and one grandson, Hudson Cole of Benbrook. She was preceded in death by one brother, Allan Jewell. Family visitation will be tonight (Tuesday) from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
