Benny Royce Locke, 30, 1966 graduate of Coleman High School, died in a Floydada Hospital at 5:00 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 1978.  Funeral services were held in Gouldbusk Methodist Church at 4:30 p.m. Friday with interment in Gouldbusk Cemetery under direction of Walker Funeral Home.  The Rev. James Smith of First United Methodist Church of Floydada officiated and the Rev. James Rogers of Trinity United Methodist Church assisted.  Jack McIntosh, Ronnie Wall, James Lovell, J. E. Waller, Bob Aldredge, all of Floydada, Todd Churchill of San Angelo, Ben Scott, Ronnie Baines, and Tommy Winfrey served as pallbearers.

Mr. Locke was born in Abilene December 29, 1947, to Ruth Thompson Locke and the late Richard Locke; and he and Miss Mary Olsen were married in San Angelo July 9, 1968.  A graduate of Angelo State University, he was serving as Distributive Education teacher in Floydada High School.  He had been a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Coleman since April 1956.

Surviving him are his wife of Floydada; three sons, Shane, Benge and Layton of the home; his mother, Mrs. Ruth Locke of Coleman; and an uncle, Charlie Thompson of Coleman.
