to the Cumberland Valley Land Company

This
Deed of Conveyance made and entered into this 7th day of September
1887, between Elcanah Wynn and Elizabeth Wynn, his wife and Joseph Wynn, and
Minty Wynn his wife, of Harlan County, State of Kentucky.
Party
of the first, and The Cumberland Valley Land Company whose principal place of
business is Stanford, Lincoln County, Ky.
Party
of the second part, witnesseth: that the said party of the first for and in
consideration of the sum of ($770.35) Seven Hundred and Seventy dollars and
Thirty five cents, in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged.
Do
hereby sell and convey to the party of the second part, it successors heirs and
assigns, the following described property, to-wit:
One
tract containing Sixty three and half (63 ˝) acres lying in Harlan County Ky.
on the right hand fork of the Childs Creek waters of the Clover Fork of the
Cumberland River and bounded as follows tract: Beginning at two White walnuts
and Chestnut Oak on the west side of the right hand fork of Child’s Creek in a
line of a 1200 acre sunray in the name of Kelly & Farmer: Thence with said line excluding a lap which the 200
aces makes on the 1200 acres: thence N80 W34 ˝ poles to a stake on sil line at
the intersection of the 2nd line of said 200 acres: Thence with the
line of the 200 acres N12 W26 pole to at stake corner to same: thence S32 E331
poles to 2 Sourwoods & Beech: thence S30 E 28 poles to 2 hickories
Poplar-Chestnut & Locust: Thence south 14 poles to the Beginning, Also one
other tract containing One hundred and Eighty (185) acre in option No 14 Lying
in Harlan County Ky., in Childs Creek of the Clover Fork of the Cumberland
River. It being a part of a 1200 sunray 126 poles force the beginning corner of
the same: Thence N80 W 322 poles to 4 Chestnut Oak: Thence S57 E9 poles to a
water Oak: Thence S27 E 14 poles a Birch: Thence S49 E12 poles to a chestnut
oak: Thence S52 E 18 poles to a large rock: Thence S36 E10 poles to a stake:
thence S49 E 16 poles to a stake: thence S9 E20 poles to a chestnut Oak on top
of the Mountain: Thence N82 E31 poles to a Sugar Tree: thence N62 E. 21 poles
to Lynns: Thence N85 E 20 poles to a Popular and Sugartree: thence N65 E8 poles
to a stake: thence N63 E9 poles to a Sugar tree and horn bean: Thence N75 E.18
poles to a stake: thence N83 E14 poles to a stake: thence N66 E16 poles to a
Chestnut: thence N85 E14 poles to a stake: thence S75 E14 poles to a stake:
thence N89 E30 poles to a chestnut: thence S87 E16 poles to a poplar at the
fork of the Creek: thence N8 E 75 poles to the beginning.
To
have and to hold the same, together with all appurtenances thereunto belonging,
unto the second part, their heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of
the first part hereby covenants with the said party of the second part, that
they will warrant the title to the property hereby conveyed unto said party of
the second part and their heirs and assigns forever.
In
testimony whereof, the party of the first part have hereunto subscribed their
names, the day and year aforesaid.
