ELCANAH WYNN son of ACHILLES WYNN (1798-1861) and LUCY TURNER (1801-1861) was born 02 June 1833 in Lee County, Virginia, and died 30 January 1899 in Harlan County, Kentucky. He married (1) ELIZABETH KELLY 13 May 1852 in Harlan County, Kentucky, daughter of JONATHAN P KELLY (1798-1861) and NANCY BAILEY (1796-1851). She was born 06 December 1821 in Harlan County, Kentucky, and died 07 December 1896. He married (2) FANNIE JANE ROBBINS 20 October 1897 in Lee County, Virginia, daughter of THOMAS ROBBINS (1830-1892) and MARGARET SMITH (1838-?). She was born 30 August 1864, and died 04 December 1943 in Harlan County, Kentucky.

WILLIAM C WYNN son of ELCANAH WYNN and ELIZABETH KELLY was born 25 Apr 1854 in Harlan County, Kentucky. He married SUSANNAH LEWIS 09 February 1874, daughter of JAMES LEWIS and CATHERINE COLLIER. She was born 06 Nov 1857 in Partridge, Letcher County, Kentucky, and died 05 March 1924 in Madison County, Kentucky.

WILLIAM ELISHA WYNN son of JOSIAH D WYNN (1829-1885) and MARY JANE KELLY (1835-1927) was born 06 March 1867 in Harlan County, Kentucky, and died 31 January 1959 in Deputy, Jefferson County, Indiana. He married (1) NANCY JANE CREECH 16 February 1885 in Harlan County, Kentucky, daughter of WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON CREECH (1842-1929) and FRANCES SMITH (1842-1927). She was born 14 May 1869, and died 1900. He married (2) MARGARET ELLEN DOOLEY 08 January 1914 in Berea, Madison County, Kentucky, daughter of WILLIAM ISAAC DOOLEY and OPHELIA ANN HAYES. She was born 07 April 1890 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, and died 18 January 1963 in Deputy, Jefferson County, Indiana.

This Deed of Conveyance, Made and entered into this 27 day December, 1898, between

Elcanah Wynn & Fanny Wynn his wife, W. C. Wynn & Susan Wynn, his wife,

party of the first part

 

and W. E. Wynn

 

party of the second part, witnesseth: That said party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of $25. Twenty-five Dollars in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged.

 

Do hereby sell and convey to the party of the second part his heirs and assigns, the following described property, to-wit: a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Harlan and State of Ky. On the Clover Fork of the Cumberland River on Childs Creek and bounded as follows, to-wit:

 

Commencing on apple trees where the fence joins near the forks of said Creek, hence running southeast with a fence up a ridge to a line of W. E. Wynn; hence with said line Northeast to the left hand fork; thence down said fork to the beginning.

 

To have and to hold the same, together with all the appearances thereunto belonging, unto the second part, their heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part hereby convenants with the said party of the second part, that they will warrant the title to the property hereby conveyeduate the said party of the second part and their heirs assigns forever.

 

In testimony whereof, the party of the first part ha? Hereunto subscribed their names the day and aforesaid.

County of Harlan Clerk’s Certificate of Acknowledgement

 

I J. F. Skidmore Clerk of the County Court for the County and State aforesaid, certify the foregoing Deed of Conveyance from Elkanah Wynn & Faney Wynn his wife to W. E. Wynn was on the 27 day of December 1898, produced to me in said County and acknowledged before me by Elkanah Wynn & wife Faney Wynn parties, grantors thereto to be their act and deed.
