We are eager to obtain any pension record
you may
have of John Turner who was born in North Carolina,
and died
in Madison County, Kentucky, between January
3, 1813, and January
3
1814, the date his will was probated.
In the state records of North Carolina, edited
by
Walter Clark, volume XV1, page 1168, he is
listed in the
"Roster of the Continental Line from
North Carolina, 1783
1st Regiment: John Turner, Sergt., Brown's
Co. Enlisted Aug.
01, 1777". under "occurrences" the record says," pt. June, 1778".
The Christian name of his second wife was
Jane.
