graduated from Concordia and was ordained a

lot of carpentry and woodworking, having most recently

Harry was born to Harry D. Wilson and Dorothy N.
(Gould) Wilson on Dec.24, 1941. He was raised in
Kansas City and graduated from Central High School
in 1960. He attended Kansas City Junior College and
graduated with an Associates degree in Engineering. In
August 1963 he married Carolyn R. Gooch. After
marriage he went on to Kansas Univ. where in June of
1966 he gradauted with a degree in Business
Administration. After graduation he went to work for
Bendix. on November 18, 1966. Harry and Carolyn
became parents of a baby girl, Lori Lea Wilson, born in
Lawrence, KS. In 1968 Harry went to work as an
Engineer for General Motors in the Fairfax plant. In
late 1969 he left General Motors and went to work for
Farmers Insurance Group as an Insurance Agent with
his office locadon in South Kansas City. His office is
now located in the Grandview Plaza Shopping Center.
In early 1971 Harry and Carolyn were divorced. In the
late fall of 1971 Harry married Linda Sue (Wackerman)
Allen. Linda was raised in the South Kansas City area
graduating in 1965 from Ruskin High School. Linda
has 2 sons Robert Wayne Allen born June 10, 1966 and
Jeffrey Thomas Allen born May3, 1968. During the
time the Wilson's have been in Grandview they have
been active in St. Matthew Presbyterian Church, Harry
now serving as an Elder for one three year term, Boy
Scout Troop 364, where Harry as Cub Master for 3
years and Assistant Scout Master. In April of 1985,
Harry was elected Mayor of Grandview and since that
time the Wilson's have been involved with serveral
organizations including the following: Grandview
Heritage Commission, Grandview Assistance Program
(GAP), Missouri Municipal League, Little Blue Valley
Sewer District, National League of Cities, Graandview
Sister Cities Committee, and the Chamber of
Commerce. Harry and Linda both have a love of the
outdoors and spend as much time as possible at
Longview Lake fishing, skiing, and enjoying their
pontoon. In the past few years all the children have
married and left home and the family has grown with 6
grandchildren which they enjoy immensely.
