Central Eagles - Click on Thumbnail for Larger Photo!  The 2nd building that was built in 1912, was the 'New' Central High School into which the school was moved in 1914 from the old building at Eleventh and Locust. The first bilding was a rented two-story building occupied from 1867 to 1884. Central was the oldest High School in Kansas City (a.k.a. "Largest in the West")  In 1993, both the Junior & Senior Central High Schools were torn down and a "New" (3rd) $32 Million dollar "Taj Mahal" Central High School was built. Such persons that claim "Central H.S. as their Alma Mater:
Hal BOYLE, a syndicated Columnist; Walt Disney, of Hollywood, CA; William POWELL, Poet; Charles STEVENSON, of Hall Brothers; Dorothy THOMPSON, Poet; and of course these 1959 and 1960 Graduates! ..prs
