The course, which is about two miles in length, starts at Southeast High School, and continues through Swope Park, around the zoo and back to Southeast. Each school has a team of seven players. The team's score is made up of the scores of its first five runners. The team with the lowest score wins. This year eight schools were represented by fifty-six [56] runners. Our team was considered a bright prospect for first place by most track savants. Unfortunately, Clarence FULTON, Central's key man, was taken ill while running the race. As a result of this he finished fortieth. [40th] Here is the list of Central's runners and their finishing positions in the race: Freddie SIMS, 5; Larry WINFREY, 9; Carl KIMBALL, 17.
