the on site parking is $5 per vehicle ... the nearest parking lot to the picnic meeting site is the second parking lot, when entering from the Edinger Street entrance ...
to access our picnic meeting site, go through the tunnel from that parking lot ... and then follow the signs ... look for POCO !!! :)
free parking is available on the public street around the exterior of the park ...
if you park in the residential area off of Euclid and/or Edinger ... don't block any driveways and/or fire hydrants !!! besides upsetting the home owners in those areas, you may be ticketed and/or towed away !
and for pete-sake parking is limited in some areas, if two autos can fit where you conveniently parked squarely in the middle ... please be considerate and pull forward or backup as much as possible :)
Food & Beverages
Being that the Rancho Alamitos Alumni Association, aka RA3 is a newly created organization, we don't have the funds yet to provide nor front for the feeding of everyone. But we do want to continue annual get together ... so that's why this event is being slated as a BYOB = "Bring Your Own [picnic] Basket" ... even so ... there will be a few limited items provided, and a few attendees may be bring additional items to share also, that we don't know about :)
a list of deli / pizza & sandwich shops in the area is located here [and a cool map too] for your convenience, in case anyone needs some suggestions of something that you might like to stop and pick up before arriving at the park :)
charcoal will be provided for those that want to use the Barbeques that are available at this picnic site ...
the following items will be available for a nominal donation ... some supplies may be limited :)
200 hot dogs and 100 hamburgers ...
Frito-Lay snack chips - grab bags ...
cold can soda's and bottle water in tubs of ice ...
coffee [full lead] ... regular sugar and plain powder creamer will be available :)
Activities
Besides the getting together with former school chums and family ... and meeting other fellow alumni people :)
It might be a good idea to bring either a lawn chair or a blanket with your picnic basket ...
there are a number of picnic tables and several nice shade trees in the meeting area :)
we will have enough room near our picnic site for a football game and/or volleyball games taking place ... come play and/or cheer on the participants in victory :)
the first 100 children [alumni off-springs ages 5 to 12 yrs old] will get their choice of one of four special gifts ... while supplies last :)
For any questions, suggestions and/or to let us know what you might like to bring or activity you want to conduct, fire off an email to us at: rahs [dot] alumni [at] gmail [dot] com and we will get right back to you :)
