| My current projects: Putting the finishing touches on our final retirement home. Mary and I have built the entire "compound" from the ground up. Two houses, a workshop and double carport w/attachment for curring lumber. We started with clearing the property and physically building everything ourselves. Carpentry, Mason work, Stonework, plumbing, electrical, stained glass work, millwright work- you name it, we've done it. I did hire a bulldozer to pull the tree stumps and dig the foundation footers. We rented a mobile sawmill and milled all af the lumber that we cut from clearing the property. We ended up with over 2000 board feet of Oak and Maple. It is now curred and we have started making furniture. Mary is constantly busy in her stained glass studio, woodworking with me and helping me take care of my 92 year old mother. | ||||
| More comments: I entered the 1st grade in 1949. Our classroom was in the basement of the concrete block activities building. Another 1st grade class was in the upstairs portion. There was a 3rd 1st grade class someplace else. I was in the class of 1961 until the 9th grade. I was held over in the 8th grade and had to repeat it. I think the same thing happened to Larry king that year. This put me in the class of 1962. | ||||
