Ceremonies Set for King Hall
Exactly 154 Carmel High School seniors will be graduating June 17 in the school’s 20th annual commencement exercises.
The 8:30 p.m. ceremony will be held in King Hall at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey.
Ted Fehring, president of the Carmel Unified School District board of trustees, will present the diplomas. Supt. Stuart Mitchell will present the graduating class and Gold C awards, while Principal Warren Edwards will distribute other honors and awards.
Speakers
The class speaker will be Bruce Green. His topic will be "Yearning, Learning and Earning." Valedictorian Jennie Hill will speak on "To Be Something -- Sometime." Class President Christopher Edson will present the class gift.
Music will include piano solos by Herbert Myers and Phyllis Clayton, three selections by the senior choir and a processional and recessional by the Carmel High School Brass Choir.
The Rev. Peter Farmer of All Saints Episcopal Church will deliver an invocation and benediction. William True, a member of the graduating class, will lead a flag salute.
